It is really hard when friends and family try to enter a comp and I am just sitting there commenting this one is a scam. There are so many great competitions to be found on Facebook and it’s hard to know what is real and what is fake. It’s always handy to know how to spot the fakes as there’s no point in entering a competition if there is no prize!
I’ve seen a few fake competition posts recently advertising ‘We have an overstock of PS4s so we are giving away 1 of 400’ or ‘Win 1 of 10 Trips To around the World’. The best thing to do when entering any competition on Facebook is to check out the credibility of the page first. First of all ensure that a Facebook page hasn’t been made this year or in the last few months and a page like Harvey Norman will have hundreds of thousands of likers not 1000.
A page is a duplicate and isn’t real without the blue tick.
Unfortunately if something sounds too good to be true, it often is. Many pages have giveaways all the time so look out for winners or comments saying winners have been notified by inbox or e-mail. Never hand over money for a Facebook Competition. Good luck and may many wins come your way!
